You'll be fine.
We're just saying, don't be one of 'those guys' that thinks because he has a 4WD you can drive faster than anybody on the hill in bad weather conditions. Ice has no prejudice to the vehicle it destroys. Just play it safe and play it smart. We'd rather see you get there and back in one piece and most of all have a good time.
Have you checked the snow conditions at the ski areas? there really wasn't a ton of snow in Tahoe. I'm only asking so you don't drive all that way for lousy conditions.
