Not too give glory too the toy axels but my buddy is running a 83 yota 7 inch skyjacker springs up front 2 inch lift shackles and 3 inch body lift and running 38 sx's with the toy axels still under it, all we have done is make our own version of the super birfield and they are holding up great.
And ohh ya its not stock under the hood if your wondering we are running a modified 350 small block pushing around 400 hp also out of a camero too a turbo 350 tranny with shiftkit and then too duel transfercases too high pinion toy diffs with 4.10's ft and well used too be rear till we snaped a rear shaft and it took out the ring gear but we still ran a trail we call the bluff in ft wheel drive with lots of skinny pedel and it got air a few times under the front and came down hard without breaking and this trail is pretty much 3ft and up ledges and 2ft n taller rocks and we made it all but the 4ft ledge because the rocks the front tires were on were wet and we couldent bounce the rear up over it.
so if you do it right toy axels will hold up too hell, so if he wants too run a d44 it should work especally if its just in mud boggs heck u run down 200 yards then stop drive back too the truck and then do it over again so it will work for bogging i think fine.
good luck whatever way you go.

If you didn't make it, and it ain't broke, you didn't try hard enough.
