Re: Tips for Installing An Aussie Locker In The Rear
« on: Aug 13, 2008, 07:39:35 AM »
So i just purchased an Aussie Locker for my rear axle.

I have some questions.

Can i just use Black RTV on the third instead of a gasket?
if i measure where everything is set at and bolted on on the third... can i just reinstall it back in those spots and be perfect?
or will the aussie throw my measurements off?

what are the torque specs for the bolts in the third?
anyone that can answer these for me, would be great.

With clean surfaces you can use just rtv with good results. The only things you are effecting when you put an Aussie in is BL and CBPL. If you mark the positions of both wheel adjusters and re-assemble each to the correct side then your BL and CBPL will be exactly as before. Tighten the 4 bearing cap bolts to 75 ft/lb.....same with the ring gear bolts. ZUK
