I have experienced your pain.  I was about 18 when my parents had to have the family dog put down.  I don't know whats worse though, that or what happened to me a few years ago.  I came home from work one day and my Akita that I had for 9 years was missing from the yard.  I have never seen her since.  I'd like to think that some family has/had her and at least loves her as much as I did but I can't help but think of all the bad things that could have happened to her too.  I still catch myself looking through petfinder every now and then hoping she'll pop up in a shelter or something but I know the odds are astronomical.  By now she would have probably succomed to old age anyway but I still hope.

Sorry for hijacking your thread BLINGN but it your story brings back memories both good and bad.  I'm gonna go look through petfinder once again.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
