Look at the exhaust ports. They all the same color?
I had a injector lean on my 89 Supra and it burned the valves. Once the exhaust manifold was off you could tell big time that cylinder was lean by the color. I put that motor in. it was a Japan motor and I had to reuse the US FI to make it smog. I didn't even open the old motor or pay any attention to it. Thought the PO just had a BHG and drove it with no coolant. Well come to find out #2 piston had holes burned in it. The Injector was bad and running the cylinder lean.

Bottom line is have the injectors flow checked when you put it back together to make sure it wasn't a lean out problem.
