I run a cone filter on my 22re and also right after the filter have a piece of nylon pantyhose stretched over the intake pipe. The hose clamp on the filter holds everything in place. Its kind of a pregnant dog-you need one person to hold the nylon and another to install the filter and tighten the clamp. I change it out every once in a while because I spend a lot of time in the sand dunes and I live in a semi arid desert, so its dusty all the time.
