I watched someone snap a u-bolt with a 4' snapon breaker bar.  So be careful not to overtighten them.  Stock u-bolts call for 90 ft lbs.  I torque mine to 100. 

Check the torque after your 1st driving trip, and also the 1st time you flex up the rear.  After that, you won't have to check them all the time.  I check mine after each "hard" run or two and so far so good.
