We went up the road called Dry Mesa Rd. It is a pretty tight trail.  No full size vehicles would make it without body damage, or sliding off the edge of a switchback.

Directions: Turn off at the Escalante Canyon turn off (approx 5-10 miles N of Delta on Hwy. 50).  Drive aprox. 4 miles to Escalante Rim Rd. ad turn left.  You then cross 'Escalante creek.'  You will cross 'Dry Fork Escalante Creek' 2 times before coming to another T in the road, turn right onto Dry Mesa Rd. and you will cross the 'Dry Fork Escalante Creek' 15 times before you start your ascent out of the canyon.  We went approx 8 miles after the 2nd T before we got stuck in the snow. There wasn't much snow on the switch backs.  We didn't start to see snow until we got near the top.

'Escalante Creek' was flowing pretty good and was not totally iced over.
'Dry Fork Escalante Creek' was for the most part iced over and it wasn't a dry creekbed like you would think from the name.  We only broke through the ice in a couple of spots.
