The ARB lockers are easy to plumb. Running the air lines to the 3rd member is not hard at all. Wiring up and mounting the compressor is fairly easy, and the only time consuming part. The instructions ARB supplies are great. 2-3 hours and you could have the compressor mounted, wired and the air lines run to the diffs.
Yes you can use just about any type of compressor, you just need a regulator for running the arb's off it. ARB also supplies instructions on how to install an air source other than their compressors
Personally I would buy their compact compressor to run air lockers and have a secondary compressor or CO2 for tires/tools/etc.
