I just ran a pipe tap into the head and intake where they go and put hex drive pipe plugs in them. Cheaper even than block off plates. I think it was a 1/2" or 3/8" pipe tap fits the hole without drilling. Just use a shop vac to get the chips out and remember to use cutting oil.
