My guess is the fly wheel was not resurfaced, or the pilot/throwout bearings were not replaced. These are a must anytime the tranny is unhooked from the motor, and both bearings cost like $30. Is the sound happening at high speed, or high RPM??
I agree with him, I replaced my clutch some yrs ago and never resurfaced it. big mistake, gave kind of similar issues that have been discussed.
