i dont know how stron it is to jsut drill a hole through a crossmember, especially since that tube isnt all tthat sturdy to begin, with, might just cause it to break....
www.budbuilt. com has a shock mount that clamps over the tube, and to me, that seems less invasive than a 1/2" drilled through a 1" thick tube.....
