Never use a chain for anything more than a light pull. Get a longer strap if you need a longer strap. they come in 30' too.
If you must use a D ring to connect connect two straps together don't snatch on it, only tug.
If that don't work use a winch and if that don't work use a winch and a second truck to pull on a strap or winch too.
For your sake look at how they got it attached before you pull, it might be your head that is about to come off.
