Re: 3.4 cat problem
« on: May 12, 2006, 11:47:54 AM »
So I took out the catalytic converter on my 98 taco w/ a 3.4 and my check engine light came on. I figured it was the upstream and downstream o2 sensors so I disconnected them and the light still comes on. Any suggestions?
With the cat off and especially disconnecting the O2 sensors you'll never get rid of the CE light. What was the original problem?
put your cat back in unless it's clogged/blown you accomplished nothing except for pissing off other people. You gain NOTHING by removing the cat it's not back in the day when they were restricting your exhaust flow nowadays they are all non restrictive.
