Call a local tranny guy and see what he's got to say! I would put it back in and change the oil every couple of months to see if anything more comes out. If you do have more shavings come out just plan on a rebuild next year! If not then run the piss out of it! Like ya said that it's only on the trail most of the time anyway! If it was my DD I would tear it apart.
