you have a 4x2? the 7.5 uses the same 3rd member as the ifs front 4x4 trucks use... so the yare durable, to a point, but an 8" is much better... if you dont have an 8" then you would need to do a complete axle swap over to it.....
i dont think the 7.5" came in any truck that wasnt a 4x2 in the rear... my truck is a 4x2, and has an 8" rear [g662]
I'm pretty sure if we are thinking of the same toy 7.5" the third is completly different first of all the ifs 7.5 has an aluminuim front cover and is made for cv axles.the 7.5 in the 2wd pickups is also a staight axle
