Yea the AC will do a better job of getting rid of the moisture that is causing the fog.
MRS W did that to me in the F350 one night, she decided we needed the defrost on and put it on full speed on hot and the winshield instantly fogged up so bad I almost had to stick my head out the window to keep from wrecking the truck.
