I'm pretty sure the tail shaft is the only difference.  When I was looking for a 350 for my swap I look around and eventually have a tranny shop build me one and all I needed to tell them was I needed the short 4wd output shaft.  So from what I understand of it is that you just need the shorty 4wd output.
