no such thing as too big 
honestly though, i doubt you will have any problems having too much power for those axles with a big block. I dont think you wil be breaking axle parts even when you get on the skinny in a sketchy situation.
To answer your question, I think a 22RE would be fine with those gears and dual cases, however you might want to tow it places to wheel because you wont be goin to fast on the road with that running gear.
I can't have a trailor queen. I would like to be able to drive it to the trails. The engine and tranny choices are still kinda up in the air. I have thought about going with a 350,700R4 and an np203,205 combo, but not certain yet.
