I only give my phone number like at auto parts stores for warrantys and stuff like that. Well, and grocery stores if I don't have my club card with me 
I'll give it to auto parts stores for the same reason, but no one else needs it. When we had a land line it was unlisted so there is no way we were giving out unless necessary. Now we no longer have a land line so I'm not giving my cell # without good reason.
