I have 127 1/2" 's of wheelbase. I dare you to drive my limo through any tight spot and not put a dent in it. 
It isnt gonna happen, if I had an exo Id most likely still be wedged in the rocks somewhere. but I have no problem uhhh adjusting the sheetmetal to allow me to continue on.

I think a non-straight sheetmetal rig have style and character too
But dont the PD care about those jungle gymed, outsticking tubing rigs ? Dont they think THAT is dangerous ?
A exterior cage isnt a real cage IMO
