I didnt bother having the shaft balanced. I drive my junk to all the trails and it doesnt vibrate enough to even worry about. The best way Ive found to get a good rear pinion angle with a cv is to put a straight edge on the rear flange and have the flange pointed directly at the bottom of the t-case flange. Give you a good angle to start with. The rule of thumb is when using a cv you want the rear flange at 2* lower than if it was pointed directly at the t-case flange. If its pointed at it directly at rest when you get a little bit of spring load (from driving down the road) you will get vibrations because the rear flange is pointing up a bit which tossed the angles off.
