The only real defense against any virus is practicing good hygiene when in public and being vigilant in keeping your hands away from your nose, mouth, and eyes unless you have just cleaned them, as well as cleaning anything that you touched with your hands while in public, like your phone.
The only REAL defense against any virus is your immune system - innate or adapted. Good hygiene and not touching your face will greatly reduce possible infection.
