Why do you suspect that?  There are so many factors. Fitup, weak frame metal from years of deterioration, welding issues, etc...
It’s just something I consider on every weld I perform.
It was meant more to start the diagnostic process.
I currently consider Myself a welding student. Under the tutalige of trial and error.
So for Me every failure is an opportunity to learn and get better.

I appreciate the information about the process used (flux core) as it definitely helps in the diagnosis.
From My limited experience I have learned that flux core welding tends to run very hot.
I am 1/5th of Perfect Fit
