I forget what year but one of the V8 Grand Cherokees from the 90s had a rear driveline at a bit on an offset angle in stock configuration.  I think you could run it offset t-case to centered diff as long as it wasn't too extreme of an angle.

I have no knowledge of the strength of the zuki t-case.  It may be an issue. I have always thought the aftermarket should address the idea of a lower high range gearing for Toyotas in some form, so I'd love to see somebody try this.
