You dont get it, a criminal can not have a legit gun, they are criminals!
All felons and some lesser crimes make it so people are banned from gun ownership, look it up, its pretty cool
Which means even if they bought a gun from a person, and the gun is not stolen its still a crime for them to have it, plus if you sell them a gun and know their are a felon you just committed a crime as well.
