Badass. I've tossed around the idea of doing this to my tg front housing but I'd probably trash it.
I think this type of mod would be easier with a Ruff Stuff, Diamond, or a TG housing as long as your diff webbing was centered enough so that only cutting into the tubing, not the webbing, would be necessary. My rear axle housing is a Ruff Stuff centered 9.5" Toyota full float LC housing, and the rear perches aren't frenched, but they are low-profile enough to put the springs only a .25" above the axle tubing. In the front, frenching a custom housing might help for leaf spring guys. Mind you, I am rolling a trail rig here, no racer, so full gussetting and total housing strength is not so much of an issue for me. I want balance and reliability. Still skeptical of my ability to run/tune COs and optimizing link geometry on a trail rig that will see highly variable load weights and on and Offroad conditions. BUT I admire the guys who can and do run rigs that work well with COs.
