on REALLY cold days, if i hit the gas right after the engine starts, my oil pump sounds like a geardrive trying to slog the 15w40 that i use.  i'm gonna try out some amsoil 10w40 synthetic i think, but for a dino oil you can't beat 15w40 delo 400

i wouldn't run 0w40 or 5w30 or any really super thin viscosity in a 22R, they like the thicker stuff from my experience, and if you thought your valvetrain was noisy with 10w30, man you're in for a suprise!
