identify this old truck?
« on: Dec 01, 2012, 03:29:32 PM »
So I saw this truck the other day, and have no idea what it is. It wouldn't be so interesting if it wasn't twice the size of my 2nd gen xtracab. Its sitting on 37s with the same proportions mine had with the stock 235s, and the cab is wide enough to seat 5. It looks like an old International but it says "FORDBINDER" on the front, which Google has no idea about. It looks like a 1960s international harvester 1200 but its just so darn big its not like anything I've seen. Look how tiny the garage door l
ooks! Its like Shaq had to have a s****y old truck built for him haha

As a guess the emblem on the front tells us that the heart that beats under the hood may be a Ford transplant into an International Harvester Truck, the nickname for an IH was Cornbinder, nice play on words.

That body style IH was made from 61-68. The later ones had side marker lights, earlier ones did not. I "think" they started in 65. Due to the regular size locking hubs and the full floater axle sticking out in the rear.I'd say it's it's a 3/4 ton(C1200). Ford in the name would imply it's Ford powered(as stated above)or maybe even more Ford stuff than that. The grill is a dead give away if you have a pic of the grill I could help pin down a year.

BTW,I was wheeling my truck with 36 inch tires with the stock suspension.

Here are pics of my rig,1964 IH 1Ton(C1300).

Nice! Something happened with uploading the picture that it only shows part of it but if you click it you can see the grill. Uploading on my phone is a pain...
this guy lives on my commute to work and I see this behemoth every day and had no idea. Its seriously wayyy too big
Pictures can't show how big this thing is. So I had to ask haha thanks guys! I know its not a yota, but he has 2 4runners and an 81 pickup on the other side of the house so he's cool ;)

Where did you get the shrooms? The cab only seats 3 and kinda cramped at that.

Cornbinders are one stout, overbuilt truck. Little to big for my taste but I do love Scouts!!!

Compared to a Hilux, that IH is massive.   :yesnod:
