1991 4runner SAS Build
« on: Sep 18, 2012, 04:56:08 PM »
I recently got a new 4runner.  It is a project in progress.  Here is the build up to the point where I got it: http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=56568.0  I have done a few things already and will be posting up some pics.  Now I'm planning for 39.5 Iroks, front locker, and deep snow!  :beerchug:
Here it is all clean like when I got it.

Decided to move the front spring hanger forward for more firewall clearance.  Had plenty of shackle angle since the hanger was mounted flush.  I went with 3/4" forward.  Cutting the hanger loose was a minor pita but worth it in clearance.  At the same time I rotated the steering box up and went with a flat pitman arm.  Here is the hanger all welded up and gusseted.

I'm in Dayton.  Yeah you saw it there, that's where I got it.

Here are some specs as it sits now: 22re, r151f, dual 2.28 cases, 5.29 yukons, detroit rear, open front, km2 35's.  I have an aussie locker on the way for the front.  I recently got some 2x2 and fabbed up a tire carrier.  It turned out to be not as heavy as I thought it would be.  It's the tire that has all the weight in that deal.  Also fits a highlift, not in the pics.

does it really have a 151? or a 150? none the less sweet looking rig, now lets see some actions shots

edit: nvm just saw skimmed through the build looks like some quality work and does have a 151  :beerchug:
