Marlin Springs = AllPro Springs?
« on: Dec 01, 2010, 03:41:39 AM »
Was browsing the store yesterday and noticed that Marlin's springs, and kits such as the hilux trail flex kit have gone away and just are replaced with a notice saying for springs contact AllPro. Whats the deal? Has AllPro always made springs for Marlin? Or is MArlin just giving up on the springs market?

We are dropping the SAS and Trail-Flex suspension kits. We will continue to sell shackle, flip kits, bolts and bushings as the supplies last. We recommending our friends at All-Pro for all you leaf spring and full kit suspension needs.

Not that its any of my business.... but why? I know thats not "Marlin's Thing" (which is the crawlers) but still I would have figured it was a pretty big chunk of what Marlin does.

It really is this simple. We have decided to focus on new and improved drive train components. Suspension has only been about 15% of our business. We have so many drive train products that have become buried amongst our board product line. Now we can bring those back to life as well as introduced new products in the upcoming months.

Makes sense to me. So once your suspension supplies dry up, you are done? No more? Even stuff you don't make in house? I like to buy expendable stuff from you guys just to support the company instead of getting it local or from someone else. I've been able to buy 99% of the parts on my truck from you guys, kinda bummed I won't still be able to do that for everything, even in lieu of new advancements, which I can't wait to hear about. :D

As long as you guys are still coming out with bad ass new stuff that I can blow all my money on, I'm happy.

Marlin didn't make the springs, they are made by Betts.

If that was directed at me, I know that, I'm refering to other things (I presume) they do make, like shackles.

We still have a plenty of shackles and parts, bushings and bumpstops, u-bolt flips, misc hangers and perches, shocks and hoops. Most of those components will not be reordered once we sell out.

OIC, I thought those type of things were made in house.

As has been said, and being on the phone with MC and All-Pro they are Identically the same springs, ordered from the same company,, Betts,,, I have a set of Marlin Rears and now set of AllPro front+rears and the rears are exactly the same! The fronts should be as well!
