i have another block and crank,  about a dozen rods,  but i hope its something simple like a cracked piston

Why not just begin a super slow, super thorough build of the other block, focusing mostly on building a reliable engine?  If there's something wrong with your current engine that's easily fixable you'll have a backup so you don't have much down time if it happens again, or you'll have another engine to swap in asap.  Even if your current plant is an easy fix, your compression numbers are flirting with rebuild time anyway  :wink2:

If you need any engine parts Glen just lemme know and i'll ship them down. I'm STILL moving out of my shop and finding it difficult to move all my stuff from my 24x54 shop to a 13x22 garage n 2 sheds...hope it's a temp thing.

No joy on the 82 e-brake, i take all that stuff off and put on driveline ones anyway.

well, i got the engine pulled apart today, found some bits-o-piston in the oil pan :(   then pulled the head off :rivers:

#3 piston came apart, basically most of the top ring land is gone, and parts of the top ring were in the header and stabbed into the bottom of the head,  pretty sure i can fix the damage to the head but

i need to find some .060 over pistons or a new block

pics tomorrow

valves are fine,  it broke just like the others did back earlier, like 4 years ago,  i think when i blew the hg a few weeks/months ago it must have cracked the piston

Did the piston actually come apart or is that the aftermath of detonation?

weird question for yah, how bad did it scar the cylinder? I see lots of aluminum, but nothing too abrasive? did it actually take out the cylinder? (please keep in mind hat it is almost 1am and Im tired, as well as the fact that I am looking at pictures, vision might be blurry)
anyways...Ive seen people do worse? depending on how bad any grooves might be... could you throw a hone through it to fix it?
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

You still have that talldeck block I was wanting to get from you right? If so have it bored and use it. If ya can't fix the head let me know, I have a 20r sitting here in need of use.

I'd take him up on that 20R, and work on the other motor on the side.

Alternator still not working in the burb? Too bad it isn't under warranty, especially lifetime! You could've taken it back.  :gap:
