Alright, this will by no means be a fast build as the purpose of this Cruiser is to wheel. I picked it up about a month ago. It came with a 327/465/3 speed case. It's sprung over with stock springs and on 38s. I've done some minor things to it, replaced a warn Sun Tach with a 5" Autometer I had, replaced the stock 16 or 18" steering wheel with a quick disconnect 14" wheel (my legs like this mod a lot), Pulled off the warn out fender flares, and threw in an Optima from a past project. Nothing serious yet. Here it is when I picked it up.

Took it out for the first time 2 weekends ago. 16.5 wide tires on 10" wheels and I was running 1-2 psi w/ no problems. Had a great time,a bit wet but fun.

Found a problem area. The stock 3 speed case has some pretty worn linkage and John H had to hold the shifter in place with his leg the whole time. No worries though as my AWESOME wife got me this box of goodies a couple of weeks before for Christmas.  Love!

I have just done the front tires so far. You can't tell from the pick but that 5 gal. bucket is at least 1/3 full. The fronts were hucking snow like crazy.

I've been thinking about it. Any idea on the "cash" price lately? I know it used to be $100 per.

If things go as planned, in a couple-few months, I might know of an offset 60 you can throw into that Cruiser, minus an E-Locker of course.  Hey Hey!

Almost forgot, my update. Well yesterday was my B-day and I had a nice 3 day weekend in Bodega Bay with the family. I planned on taking today off as well and getting my mini truck case installed. Well, my luck strikes again. After getting the stock 3 speed case pulled from behind the 465, I see that the 465 has a 32 spline shaft and not the 10 spline necessary to use Marlin's adapter. Well after making some phone calls, looks like I can get the needed output for under a hundo, get some gaskets, and I have a buddy that has offered to help me do the switch to the tranny. Unfortunately I had been planning on snow wheeling in 2 weeks so instead of waiting on parts and probably missing the trip, I threw the 3 speed case back in and hooked everything back up.

So, my update after a solid 6 hr. day working on this thing is absolutely nothing. I crawled around in grease and gear oil and ended the day in the exact same spot I started the day.

Oh well, @ least I still get to go wheeling in 2 weeks.  Rocking Out

Yeah it definately dropped my spirits for a few minutes. Bottom line of the Cruiser is to keep wheeling so I made sure it was back together. Now I think I might have to dive into the LPG just so something is different from the last time I went up the hill.  Gap

Please esplain why LPG is so cool.  I just don't get it.  Less range (hard to bum a couple gallons on Dusy), bottles take up interior space (for us family oriented guys).  When EFI is getting so easy  I Dunno... .  I'm not bashing it, I just don't see the bennies.

LPG has it's ups and downs like everything. The cylinders do take up interior space but I am going to mount them so my daughter's seat will sit over them with plenty of head room to spare. The space available from where the stock tank was, will be used for parts, tools, etc. LPG, if properly tuned, will get better on trail mileage if you are using all new (not worn) parts. As far as trails like Dusy, there are few EFI systems , stock or aftermarket, that will allow for as much variation in elevation as Dusy has. I have a few friends that say it runs fine until you get up to the high points on Dusy, then it will bog a bit and sputter. LPG is self adjusting, no matter what the elevation, the system will only burn what is necessary. And there is the install/tune factor. An aftermarket or even stock retro EFI system will usually take from 4 hrs. on up due to the needed learning time for the motor and for programming. An LPG kit can be installed and tuned in about 3 hrs. There is only 1 wire necessary, and they can usually be bolted on in place of a stock carb. Now, instead of carrying a jerry can on the back of the Cruiser, I'll have a BBQ cylinder.  Gap

EFI and LPG both have benefits, I chose this route for the previous reasons, but mainly I was looking @ the ease of installation.

Had to change the oil in the wife's car last night so I figured I'd play with the Cruiser while the oil drained. Well after I got a good drain, (1.5 hrs. later) I finally got the mixer installed. One of the studs for the carb had been broken off a while back apparently so I spent the majority of the time extracting that. I should have it running again tomorrow.  Hey Hey!
