What I did to my 85 runner is used 2nd gen 3.0 v6 4Runner ifs brake calipers, master cylinder and used a dual diaphram booster off a t100 truck and fj60 vented rotors, truck stops my 37s on a dime if needed. But your options are pretty open here, you can use 4cy ifs calipers as well and don't need a bigger booster but a 1" master cylinder is a must!

So if i use the 6cyl ifs calipers  do i have to get a bigger booster or will the stock booster from my 83 work

You will want a bigger 1" MC regardless of if you use the 4cy or v6 ifs calipers .

The MC on my first gen started leaking recently, so I installed a v6 1'' MC. Now I have to stand on my breaks, I will likely be going back to the stock MC. I may be wrong, but I am under the impression that the Booster must be upgraded along with the MC and the bigger boosters dont seem to fit the first gen trucks, do to steering shaft clearance.

My brakes do the same. I have to push hard to get them to do anything  but I can't remember if I have the bigger MC.  I have tried to fit a different booster and it was hitting the steering arm.   I remember that one clearly because I was confused as to why u couldn't steer when I put it in.  :smack:
So I'll probly get new calipers.  And rotors while I'm at it. I'm thinking the 6 cyl ifs calipers and vented rotors.  Those fit don't they?
