2015 Dusy/Ershim Trail Clearing
Last weekend Marlin organized and led the 4WD Club of Fresno to another sucessful clearing of our favorite trail, the Dusy/Ershim, located in the High Sierra district of the Sierra Nevada Mtns, Central California. Two of our sales employees Mitchell and Lee were on hand helping out! This year's trail clearing was a bit of a struggle for Marlin to organize as it was originally scheduled a week prior with nearly double the amount of rigs planned to attend before the recent unusual summer rain & snow prompted the Forest Service's hydrologist to postpone the work event. Many people had already taken vacation time for the original date and as a result were unable to attend. Nevertheless, even with the limited number of rigs and available seats, it was a great weekend and all fallen trees were removed from the trail, camp sites cleaned and ready for use, and toilets inspected from winter damage and cleaned. The trail officially opens this weekend, August the 1st, and we hope your 2015 wheeling season on the Dusy is a great one! Please respect this trail: Stay on the trail, stop to pick up trash, and leave it cleaner than ya found it! Thank you very much from everyone at the 4WD Club of Fresno!

Here is our OHV High Sierra Ranger District assistant manager JR presenting another one of his amazing and detailed Safety Meetings on how the day's trail clearing will be performed. JR used to be a Forest Service Hotshot (http://www.fs.fed.us/fire/people/hotshots/IHC_hist.html) so we are very fortunate to have someone so highly trained and skilled in safety and tree cutting to assist us!

Marlin apologizes for the blurry photo but we wanted to share it anyway! This is at Thompson Lake Camp Ground where Marlin's north group caught up with the south group who had spent the previous day clearing the lower end of the trail!
