Anyone have any experience with this kit? I am planning on a sas in mid april time frame.

I ask because the rear hangers look like they weld directly to the bottom of the frame, instead of a through the frame sleeved design.

I plan on doing this swap myself, however I dont want to make a compromise if this rear mounting is less than optimal.

Also, will i be able to grind off all the parts without a torch??? I know its a TON of grinding but if its possible I would like to know.

I may end up paying someone to weld the mounts but I would like to do this swap myself to save some $ and have the satisfaction of a DIY install.

I have a welder, but lack the torch setup.

Thanks in advance   Luke

Dont put the shackles under the frame.  With the mounts that low it doesnt leave enough room for a decent sized shackle without loseing major groundclearance.  Also youd almost have to re-weld the spring perches to counteract the insane amount of castor youd have.  If castor isnt an issue Id say they use a huge drop hanger....
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Yea,,I know a few guys that have the shackle under the frame..Both of them have bent springs backing on rocks..Other then that there are no real issues..going through the frams seems to be the better method..
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

Most of bent ups :pokinit: is for tacomas and most of the tacomas I've seen have the shackle hanger under the frame. I would get Marlins or another SAS kit designed around an 86 to 95 4x4 frame. the tacoma guy's also seem to lift the :pokinit: out of their trucks so I think that that is why their kit places the shackle hangers there instead of a sleeve through the frame.
Sounds like more tree huggin hippie bull :pokinit:

Thanks for the replys, I was guessing that mounting the rear that low would cause clearance problems, Im not looking for huge lift, ust rears up front for maybe 3"-4" of lift.

How about using a grinder on all that IFS stuff??? Is that the insane way to go about it, or should I have some shop torch it off? I would rather grind at my leisure in the garage but if its next to impossible I will resolve to the torch. I also have a sawzall.

Bent up's kit is for the Tacomas.  The shackle gose under the frame cause the bad angle of the frame right where the shackle needs to be.

I am getting ready to do my SAS and i will be cutting the IFS junk off with cut off wheels for a grinder. i have a torch but think it will be cleaner with cut off wheels.

Hey man where u located i would be willing to come by sometime with torchs, cause life is much easier with a torch.

Putting the shackle mount under the frame rail will give you a bad pinion angle and your caster will be WAY off.  As far as not having a torch theres ways around it.  Rent.  Or you can even crank your welder up and weld them off.  Get it hot enough to burn through the metal then glean it up with an angle grinder.

Hey AJ thanks for th offer, I live in the middle of nowhere unfourtunately, California city, CA  near Edwards AFB, which is near Barstow. I will probably end up renting one, I was looking today and I would go through ten harbor freight grinders before I was done.

Looks like I will be doing through the frame, eiether way it does not look too difficult, measure twice cut once.
