I've got a buddy that has some 1996 4Runner calipers from a 15inch wheelset.  I want to upgrade my front brakes on my 85 to the IFS calipers and FJ-40 rotors.  Would these calipers work on my truck?

Anybody?  I know the 86-95 calipers work but didn't know if these calipers would?

doubtful...the newer style suspension utilized a rotor that just slips over the lugs, rather than bolting to the back of the hub.  I'd suspect the spacing would be all wrong.

They should work dude, like I said before, if it is infact a 96 it should have the same calipers as the trucks, because the gen3 runner didn't come out till 97'.  We could compare them to mine.  I have ifs calipers on my truck.  just give me a ring or stop by after work.

Rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
