Injector Questions!
« on: Mar 24, 2005, 12:10:27 PM »
I bought an 88 motor and 89 wiring harness and I have it all wired up but the injectors are a different plug, I have the plugs that fit the injectors off an older harness I was wondering if I can just put the older plugs on the newer harness
1 of the wires on each plug is the same on the harnesses.
will this work?

I believe that depends on what ecu you will be running.  Injector resistance may be differrent from 88 to 89.

According to LCEngineering, they are different injectors.  88 is all by itself.  http://www.lcengineering.com/TechNotes/TechNote11.htm

You will need to run the same year ecu as injectors, and I would lean towards the 89 units.  I don't know about 88, but 89 injectors had the drivers build into the ecu, and earlier models had a seperate injector driver.
