No, had a camping trip for the girl's birthday this weekend. No time to work on anything. I did get the box from jangelfire, thanks dude!, and other parts for the work party next weekend.

Well time is running out and my truck is still a no go for Moab as it stands right now. My girl's birthday was this last weekend so we went up to Deception Pass in Oak Harbor for some incredible camping. It was a great time and I got to make my famous burgers for over 25 people. 










In truck news I'm collecting parts for the work party this weekend which needs to get my truck fixed/finished for moab. My 25mm upgrade, FROR tacoma brake bracket, etc. have all started showing up.





Oh also my garage got some pretty sick bling. Before you all call foul it is a loaner from Marlin for the NW Mini Roundup I'm throwing this summer. Had to hang it on the wall...you know to keep it clean and all....

Man I really hope you can get your steering squared away. I'm frustrated as hell , for you. Sounds like a complete cluster F of what the problem could actually be. They always say 2 heads are better than 1 so hopefully you will have enough people working together over the weekend to get it sorted out, Seriously I've been checking everyday to see if any luck with it.  Hopefully all goes good

Thanks, man. I really hope I can get it sorted as well. I've had many heads look at it. No fix as of yet. Thanks to jangelfire I've got a new box to throw in this weekend. I'm pretty confident that is going to do the trick.

Well now I'm a little concerned about needing longer wheel studs for this IFS hub swap with Tacoma rotors. Would love it if someone who has done it can weigh in for me. I'm running steel wheels. Is it only the aluminum guys who are needing the longer studs? This thread is what is throwing me for a loop:

Measure your stud length, subtract the thickness of the taco rotor. Your wheel isn't but about 1/4" or so subtract that and see how much you have left for the lug nut.

Grab 12 longer ones to be safe.swapping studs ain't no thang!! If ya don't need them, return them.i do that kinda stuff all the time cuz I live in BFE!

Yea if get them anyways , easier to swap studs with the hub off then on , I have ifs hubs but still using the fj60 rotors and ifs brakes so I couldn't tell you if yours will work on not with taco brake stuff

So I ordered 12 of the 610-312.1 studs (stock rear studs) which should do the trick. Autozone is transferring them to my local store for me. Will be able to pick them up tomorrow.

How are you pressing them in?

My neighbor is a machinist at a local supplier to Boeing. We will be going to his work tomorrow to press out steering arm pins, press in 25mm pins, press out races, press in races, and now these studs  as well.

All I've done is painted them so far. I'll let you know after Moab. I will say the lack of instructions for all the different brackets is aggravating as I spent a couple hours doing trial and error. The quality of all the parts feels like the incredible quality I've always seen out of them.

I noticed that you had to change the bracket on the factory door to match up with the quick release bracket on the truck, but it looked like the tube door was just drilled for the standard bracket mounting.  You must have two sets of the door side brackets?

Factory door brackets don't have a hole in the middle for quick release pins. Also they are permanently attached to the body side.

I think I finally pictured how it works in my mind.  You should just need a second set of the door side brackets to bolt to the tube doors, right?

I purchased the additional brackets. My setup will be quick change.

Doors are going to look good. Probably haven't payed close enough attention but I've never seen anyone do a second set of brackets for the full door for quick release. Very cool . I'm watching how the IFS hubs come out for you. Prob next on the list for me, my impatient's got the best of me so spacers did the short term trick. Glad to see all else seems to be going smooth for you

Got as much done as I could after work today. Tore down to the balls, brakes drained, knuckles cleaned up, IFS hubs cleaned up, rinsed out the wheel bearings with brake cleaner, etc. etc. I did manage to cross thread and destroy one of the stud holes in one of my IFS hubs. Going to helicoil it tomorrow.
