I received this instead of parts
« on: Jul 10, 2014, 01:28:28 PM »
I ordered two shifter bushings that I needed to complete my clutch job.  I've been waiting for these for almost two weeks.  My package arrived today an I was very excited.  Finally!  I open it up only to find two stacks of job applications for Christmas Tree Shops Inc.  I tried calling and figured out that they were down a couple of people.  But I do not know what to do I needed these parts yesterday and now I do not know whether to contact Fedex, USPS, or Marlin Crawler.   :maddest:

Was the package actually shipped by Marlin or did you get someone elses delivery from another company?

Yes it is indeed from Marlin Crawler.  I took some pics but cant post them so here is the link.  In picture 3 you can see the shipping label.  The box did not contain anything other than what is pictured.

The label in the pic is a Smart-Post label. The papers are what the thief left you. I believe once FedEx transferred the packed to USPS or where it was delivered you were hit. Send me a PM with your info and I'll get in touch with you.

I am wondering why is our shipping label affixed atop another white label? We only apply our shipping labels direct to our cardboard boxes. The top edge of our label is not a straight edge and you can see our (or a label with our info) is attached atop a white label that is then attached to our (the) package.

Maybe our label was removed from the package, or torn/damaged, and another label was printed but placed atop someone else's package. If so then look at the flip side: Somewhere in the world someone who needs Christmas Tree Employment forms is stuck with a pair of our HD shift bushings.

Man that really blows...

BigMike

Well hey, look on the bright side! At least you weren't expecting something more expensive like an fj80 high pinion ARB 5.29 differential built by Marlin!!! Then I'd be loading my guns. Still a bummer though.

At least you weren't expecting something more expensive
CruzrDave and I were saying the same thing. We'll replace some small parts but to replace something big & expensive like that..... whew that is going to take some serious investigation and back-and-forth to figure out just what the hell happened.

That is a Smart Post label which means FedEx picks up the package and delivers to the destination city's Post Office, and then the Post Office delivers it through their standard postal routes. The label is the same from start to finish so its difficult to say at which leg of the journey caused the issue.

BigMike

Unfortunately I had to order them from another company.  I just couldnt wait any longer for them.  Id rather have a refund at this point.  Its not that its Marlin Crawlers fault but I had to do what I had to do.

Who is gonna open up a box steal two shifter bushings and replace it with job applications?

Id get a hold of your post office and fedex and see whats happened.  When i was younger i had a birthday card with a check not show up (usps). Then about 3-4 months later i receieved it all opened, but sealed inside a bigger envelope along with forms and such.  Basically they caught a postal employee somewhere stealing mail, and there were forms to basically get the guy in more trouble i guess.  Maybe you could call both shippers and see if there is an investigation, idk who should do that shipper or reciever, but just a suggestion

I ordered 2 bushings and 2 shifter cups and received only one of each. $50 is a little steep for one of each.

those bushings are the best, make any old toyota tranny feel new again.

protip apply some lube to your new bushings before install, it will make things go easier and it all feels right when you drive it for the first time.

the first time I used these I installed them dry and it took a couple miles for the shifter to feel right because it was dry so just basically metal grinding on plastic.

aaronyanez79, this is clearly a mistake on our part -- very sorry for that -- and an extremely simple one to take care of. Did you ever get the other 2 ya ordered?

We rely on the fact that the transmission throws gear oil up and all over the shifter but lubing it rather than waiting is useful and is listed as the last step of the install guide.

Glad ya like em so much!! I wouldn't want to drive my truck without them! :beerchug:

Edit: Because this is not a Newbie Question, I am locking the thread. aaronyanez79, please call or email us if we still owe you parts! :_order: We have a strong reputation for helping our customers no matter what so don't miss the opportunity and let us take care of it! Thanks!!
