Thanks for the comments. The pictures don't show it very well but I wired in two 110v outlets into the top of it on the passenger side. They are connected to a small inverter below.

Very nice job, have been thinking about doing this, the question I have is where do you stow the front section. That has been one of my stumbling points.

You are right about it being inconvenient to have to store the front section somewhere. I also haven't solved this problem. I have to store it the garage when it is not being used. I couldn't figure out a way for it to fold up small enough to keep in the truck and also being rigid enough to sleep on.

I was considering  a slide out similar to my van that has fold out legs that will run to the floor board by sliding the front seats forward and the seat backs tilted forward. I think this would also give me the extra room needed for a 6'2" frame.

I am 6'-1". With the front portion of the platform continuing right on top of the rear seat bottoms in the upright position and the front headrests removed it is just right. I actually recline the front seat a bit and just set my pillow on top of it it ends up only being about 2" taller than the platform. Actually quite comfortable. I'll post some pictures.

So why not just use the folded seat bottoms to support the platform? I figure with that and a couple foldable stiff legs I will be fine. On my van the platform slides into the underside of the permanent section.

That's pretty much how mine works. I made a piece that folds to support the side nearest the drawers.

Is the cabinet floor 'free floating' on the bottomg of the bed or mounted down?  If free floating how much movement do you get?  Im guessing the wheel well and tailgate (bedside) hold it in place?

How easy/difficult is it to remove the entire cabinet?

Did you have to remove factory roll bar to get this too work, or just didn't have them in when designing?

What is the drawer HxW dimension?  I am thinking when I build mine I will want the drawer(s) to be at least as wide as the 'height of an anitfreeze shaped bottle' and maybe as high as the height of a quart of oil.  Or maybe the size of my Go-Bags.  Still not sure.  Just curious what your dimensions were though and if you think you would rather have them 'taller' or maybe even one that is 'wider' than the other one.

I am going to be doing something similar.  And I think I have a solution for the 'rear seat' portion you are storing in the garage.  It's in my head and not on paper yet, but I am thinking of using a couple hinges so that the 'rear seat' portion can fold back on top of the main cabinet, and then the support legs would also hinge as an entire unit.

I still got the rollbar and a Can-Back so I know I am in for some 'unexpected problems' that'll come up mid build.  I think I may use 'cardboard' as a mock up first to determine if my ideas will even work.
If I don't ask the stupid question, who will?

The floor of my drawers is free floating. It doesn't move at all, in fact I do still have the roll bar installed. I used it to help hold the drawers in place. To remove it obviously I have to take the hard top off. Then  I empty it and block up the back end of it so I can get to the rol bar bolts. Once the roll bar is free I tip the drawers up on their side so that the roll bar can be removed from around the drawers.

I have been really happy with the height o them. I keep a bottle of coolant on its side along side one of the drawers. Fits perfectly. I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

Great cabinet work.  I've been considering something similar for my Xtra-cab's bed. I want my stuff more organized and having a sleeping platform is a plus.

I made one for the extra cab that I used to have. It was more simple and had door that swung up to open.
