Just thought I'd post my findings because I really couldn't find any hard facts as to how much these rigs consume running on LPG. Of corse there are several variables based on setup and equipment, and trail but.. this is what I found after running my rig on the Rubicon for the first time over the weekend.

Here's my setup

84' Pickup Bobbed Bed - Loaded with 2, 10 gallon tanks 1- 8 gallon tank and all my camping gear, spare parts, tools etc.
Dual Transfer cases, stock gears
Toyota axles, w/5.29 gears
Bald wornout 35/12.50/15 tires
newly built 20r/22r hybrid engine.

I ran from buck island to the Loon Lake staging area, in 6 hours.. very few stops. Hand calculated (by tank weight) I burned 4.4 gallons of LPG!

I used a total of 9.4 gallons round trip

Forgot to post up these photos of my finishing touches before the Rubicon weekend.

Also learned about bunch about my rig over the weekend. I def need bump stops on the front, I need to put my trail gear steering pump on, and my brakes need to be serviced... they're not bad but they need to be inspected and serviced. My front drive shaft popped out on the way back, ... never had trouble with it on the way in but somehow the suspension must have unloaded just right and it popped out... So may need to lengthen that??

GB and Horseshoe I painted on w/my air brush.. in honor of my grandfather.

Just a little update... I've taken this thing out a couple of times on the rubicon.. Every time I go out find things that need improvements and change... I really don't like how high this thing sits... and I want to build a custom bed for it to make better use of the space.  I see a 3 link and a lower COG in my future... I've been researching my options.  Heading back to the Rubicon next weekend and here a few changes I've made..

Rear Disk brake conversion.. using sky's brackets, brake lines and rotors.

All Pro - TC mounted driveline Parking Brake... Got this from my buddy Jason Stanley (LocktupFab) he also helped me with his press, needed to disassemble and re-install new bearings for rear axles etc... Jason just launched his new web site http://www.locktupfabrication.com/ check it out! He's has a wealth of knowledge and stands behind his products..

Here's some pics of the P-Brake and rear discos.

Winter Projects!  ..  Planning Adding onboard air via York Compressor, New Custom Bed, and Tank Mounts. Finished off the front end of the exo.

Did a little mod work on the front end of the Exo, and added a couple tubes to finish it off. Also working on designing and building a new bed.. Got the tank mounts and made bed hoop mocked up.

Here's an shot of the front end before:

Front End after:

Tank Mounts.. The Tanks are mounted on drawer slides.. they will slide out from the sides.. Bed will be built around them.

You've got some awesome fabrication skills. Looks good.
If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough. I've got the scars to prove it

MRHilux87

I like it.  Tubing is getting better and better.  36s are the perfect size tire for yota axles imo.

Yep bend-tech pro. Still learning it, but a great investment. I've got the mid-America  ez-bender.. This is my first project with the bender.  Bought it from a buddy got. A great deal on it.

If you see it, its for sale.

Very nice work.  Impressed.  A lot of flatbeds look redneck with keeping the factory frame.  You hid it well.  And its usefull space.

Thanks for all the comments guys! I still need to put the panels on and do a few little things like  light wiring etc... but I'm really happy with it. I'll post up some pics after I get the panels and lights wired up!

Nothing to stop you from linking the rear now, with no fuel tank.  Just a thought.  Or just wheel it hard with the springs.

I could but I'm just gonna wheel the leaf setup for now.. I got another project I hope to setup with a link suspension though.
