Topic: ?what is my 85 worth?

Idk if this is the correct forum,  but I was wondering what the concensus would be as far as value. I have an 85 4runner that has 120, 00 miles on it. I recently invested a lot of $ in it to include a 5" Marlin crawler suspension lift with 5.5 shackles., 5:29 gears, yukon zip locker and arb pump, knuckle rebuild kit, high steering kit with the ifs box tapped for hydro assist, dual transfer cases and its in km2 35" tires and rock sliders.  I haven't flexed or went rock crawling in it yet.  I am the 3rd owner.  It has one small dent on the right front quarter panel and that is it.  Im getting married and was wondering if I sold it what I should get.

About 1/2 of what you have into it, it sucks but you will never recover the expense of fixing it up.

It's tough to say without pics and knowing how it runs but here in Cali it would list in the range of $6000-$8000. Not sure what you would walk with though.

What the heck does getting married have to do with selling your Toyota? Don't sell it. Our daily driven family hauler 4runner has 35s, 4.7 t-case, lockers and a 3RZ swap...

When it comes to valuing hobby vehicles, the best way of doing it is to take their KBB value for their stock counterpart in the same condition, then add 1/2 the value of the parts(retail price, not the cost of labor) then adjust for your market area and allow some room for negotiations.

What you "should" get and what you "will" get are not usually the same unless you are really lucky or are not in a hurry. The $6-8k range previously mentioned is a good starting point with the reality of an actual sale being probably closer to $5k from what ive seen the last couple of years...

id think at least $5000,I sold a bone stock 86 runner a few months ago here in North Florida for $4800
