UPDATE. I went out and bought everything I thought I had to complete the swap. Ordered the Chilkat oil pan today. Here are some pics showing my progress for today. I got the motor in. :flamer:

A tip when doing this swap: REMOVE THE CLUTCH! this will make everything much easier. also, the bracket that is meant to hold the rubber clutch line to the firewall kind of gets in the way as well. I did NOT hack it off, but it wouldn't e a bad idea to do so.

 just waiting for the chilkat oil pan...then progress will continue. I hope to receive it in the mail today or tomorrow. Once I do the oil pan conversion I will be installing the rest of the drive train. I am going to compare the clutches and see what to do there. WHAT TO DO IN REGARDS TO THE CLUTCH?  just use the clutch disc from my 22r and the pressure plate from the 3rz? or will the flywheel from the 22r bolt up to the 3RZ?  :flamer:

Ya that's my dilemma with the 4.3. I have also read that you have to run a cowl hood to clear the air cleaner.. I'm not diggin the idea of that. I was thinking it would be around 2500 for the 3RZ. that might be the route ill go.

Yeah. I was thinking thats an accurate number $2500...assuming youve purchased a brand new clutch.etc...With everything i have now, motor mounts, oil pan, harnesss' all harnesses, engine, bellhousing, gas tank, ecu, and a few opther things like, oil filter, oil, valve cover gasket and paint...im at $2,000....

Keep it going. This will prob be an avenue ill go down in the future. Big mike has pretty much convinced me. 2500 ain't too bad, better than building up a 22r(e) series motor for sure

So, after much struggle and some extensive rigging....I finally got the trans and dual T's up into position. I am having a hard time getting the tcase mount and x member to line up to fasten down, but I should work that out today. ALSO, I used the stock 22r fan clutch and fan. I did this by drilling out the holes a bit on the 22R  fan clutch to fit onto the 3RZ water pump studs. went right on. well see if it is enough cooling...PICS TO COME later on today. I just need to get some more done. Time is a ticking. :turtle3:

OK. I got the trans bolted up and the starter installed. I had to elongate the x member t-case mount holes in order to have been able to install the T case mount. Otherwise the t-case mount did not line up at all. Then I ran into another issue. In order to bolt the driver side of the t case mount to the x member safely. I had to have my friend pull on the motor with all of his might to the d side so the t-case mount would sit flush on the x member in order to get it fastened securely.

Also my garage door fell on my truck. I have some good pics of it on my cell..

The wiring is coming along smoothly though. ONE WIRE AT A TIME.

Not sure yet...but i may have to lay a new line. I am going drom a 22r. I did do a little research before starting. But a lot of what i needed an answer dor i could not find. So i hope i can give the advice and info that i havent seen on others write ups.

This saturday i am going to pick up an EFI gas tank off of an 88 runner with pump and all. I will be using the stock 22re fuel pump and routing my own plumbing.                   (fuel line)..

My motor is the "COP" coil on plug design. so it is differernt then wiring up a dizzyd motor. When i finish the wiring I will at least show which wires you need/color of wire and what each terminal plugs into and what splices where to retain the factory gauge cluster and what not.
