simple exo

i asked my buddy to make a simple exo over just the cab of my 83 and then weld it on my truck after its built he wants to take the truck and do it that way what should i do have him build it first then put it on my truck

exo has to be built around the truck.    tack all the pieces together on the truck, then lift the cage up high enough off the truck to weld the bottom side of the joints, then set it back down and weld it onto the truck.
