hello all fellow wheelers
my names daryl
i live at newcastle its 3hours north of sydney - australia
got a young family. locky 4years old & second ones still cooking 9weeks to go

it been some time since i posted some info on my build up.
but its now started 
about time to.
its going to be a slow build up
due to money & working 6days a week

project list has changed & i think it wiil also change as the project comes along

its not going to be a daily driver any more but still would like it to drive as well as one should
thinking of using detroit locker rear & either electric locker OR arb in front
and also tyres have changed think ill go to 36'' tsl sx / simex XT2
and going the 3rz as the 22re havnt been made in austraila since 1987 so there getting as little long in the tooth

stipped back to chassis & body ready for toy running gears

started of by dummy fitting 22re & G52 and dual 2.28 cases with marlins t/case adaptor

raised the engine & trans for flat belly

and started on chassis extension  will also move tray back around 22''
also ran fish plate over chassis joint 300mm eather side for strenght

close up of chassis fish plate welded in place

and chassis brackets for the four link rear-end

upper trailing arm mounting cross member 150mm x 50mm x 810mm wide
link brakets have five adjustable holes  40mm apart will help for adjusting
anti squat / instant centre etc ones ride hight is final and can adjust to suit tracks eg hills or flat mud work
not that id need to just nice to know there adjustment for any unsean problems etc

and beefing them up with brackets

front factory  TJ coils 16.5'' open lenght
14'' compressed at this stage anyways
chassis rail height 21.5'' tall
and 40% worn  35'' bfg

and last but not least
moved axle housing mounts out 2'' per side to help coil clear chassis on suspension cycle

and getting ready to 45 seals

all mounts where made using around two full days on mounts alone    
115mm ahgle grinder
air die grinder
13mm elec drill

except for upper chassis mount cost me $30.00 from local sheet metal shop  8)

so far there 10days in this project
at least four where making brackets / crossmember etc
and the rest was fitting in all up & welding
oohh and stripping drive line down

hey awhotrods how do you find the hi pinion & lockrite work ?? havnt busted any r&p gears
no probs reversing under hard  load ??   
and how you find the turning radius on full lock  4wd low

turn radius full locked with lockerite in the front in 4 low sucks, but you just have to deal with it

looks good man... im about to do the same thing with my zuki.. im gonna run toy drivetrain and possible a toy 22r... im just scared of the wiring harness.. Im not the best with electrical and thats the only thing stoppin me from doin full toy drivetrain.... loooks good.

aahh good to her another zook/toy build up ]
if your using carby id say ud get away using the zook wiring harness for most
like carby / starter motor / coil etc
ud only have trubble if going the 22re or 22ret donk
send some pics my way as you go

one of your mates was telling me your building a zook up

i'm about to continue working on my samurai giving himTLC-70 axles and coils - just need few more days to finish very urgent and massive project at work.

do you have a build up page of your zook beast ?? landcruiser axles would be hell strong in a zook

cool preject, I'm doing one kind of like that I have the engine and tranny in and all the wiring just need to make some drive lines and plumb the fuel system. Oh yeah I used a 22RE and L52 tranny for leght going to put 5 to 1 tcase gears and 5.29s in the axles(toy axles are already installed.)
