I think you can do that it should make it a full floater rear end. i want to do the same or just buy a full float kit.

They are a b*std of an axle.  I always thought it would be cool to do a dually axle conversion.  Until you look at the bolt pattern you would need for wheels, the height, and the width of the wheels.  The bolt pattern is a 6 on 8.5 and the wheels are a 14"x6"   Basically, you would have to have some wheels custom made.  Then there is the spacing of the wheels/tires.  In order for the tires to not rub, the frame or each other, you would need two sets of spacers.

easier to just buy axles for the dually rear end. they are not that much and you can have them made for your bolt pattern.

if you swap in a fullsize dually from a chevy, I could see it being a lot more viable an option.... but the Toyota dually is all weird

Trail Tough did a Sammy called the "Crustacen" that had a kind of dually set up.

I've seen some full size rigs with dually setup, but not in a crawl setup.  Problem is the fact that the sidewalls of the tires would rub and disentegrate.  Seen may rigs with duallys run tires to wide and they would eat there sidewalls up.  Yeah, it looks cool!
