22re tranny stuck in reverse

threw in a used transmission. when i had it off the truck i checked that all the gears worked and shifted yes it works but when i threw it on the truck it only goes in reverse, tried shifting it into other gears but it wouldnt move..  i put installed it in reverse so im thinking thats the problem but dont really know.. anything will help lmk thanks
