I wonder how hard it would be to find parts to restore it? I have enough problems finding parts for my 85 runner sometimes.

83 shorbed pickup. 22 re swap. Dual ultimates, l52hd tranny, 5 " marlin trailflex lift. Yukon 529. Grizzly in rear zip locker front. And a bunch of other stuff....

I dont think to hard, its basic the pick up with a few extra intirior parts and a camper shell, i have a 86 4runner and i find all the parts i need easily, its all on the who you know and who they know.

Its a whole different animal than a first gen 4runner. I think there were only a few made. I don't think i'd give 2grand for it. maybe one, maybe. and I know the rear tailgate glass thing are expensive. its a project to say the least, but a sweet project. If I didn't have my first gen pickup and a 67 mustang to work on I'd look into it

If I was closer I'd buy that in a heart beat, I haven't even seen a normal '81 with that low miles. Hatch is easy to find too http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/trekker_13.html
