2001 Tacoma Plate Bumper by C4Fab
« on: Jun 07, 2013, 06:46:20 AM »
hey guys, wanted to share a few pics of a Tacoma plate bumper I just finished up. Customer didn't want lights or winch mount, so its pretty simple but I like how it turned out.

comments, suggestions, criticism welcome!

Started out with 1/4" plate for the main upright supports that bolt directly to the frame, then bent a piece of 3/16" plate around them to work off of.

Then started mocking up the shape with some cardboard templates. This is what I came up with

Customer wanted a grille hoop tube on top. Pics also show it all completely sanded and finished up.

A couple shots off the truck

This one shows the tow shackle eyes go through the front and weld to the main bumper support that goes directly to the frame.

that's it for now. cutomer is making payments to me for a few weeks. Once its paid off it will be powdercoated and installed!

Weight?

Gonna add any support for the stinger? Ive bent them back before when they are like that Dunno what tube you used tho.

As always, awesome work man. How many hours do you think you will have into it when done?

I didn't weigh it, would have to guess around 90lbs. The main uprights are 1/4" plate and everything else is 3/16".  As far as the stinger goes, its .143 wall tube. Not worried about it getting bent back though. this truck is his daily driver and mild wheeler. Hopefully he wont ever be doing anything severe enough to somehow bend the stinger on this truck.
